Watkins Museum plans Jayhawk-related event

The Douglas County Historical Society is sponsoring “Let’s Talk Jayhawk” for children.

Participants are asked to bring a Jayhawk item to show the other children. They also will create their own Jayhawk activity book and learn Jayhawk trivia questions such as “Is there a reason for those yellow shoes?”

“We are trying to develop some youth programs here,” said Rebecca Phipps, director of the Watkins Community Museum of History.

The event will be from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 27 at the museum, 1047 Mass.

To enroll, call the museum at 841-4109. Cost is $5 per child.
