Police release recording of fatal chase
Lawrence Police this morning released a copy of the dispatch radio broadcast of an Aug. 26 police chase that ended with the death of a Lawrence woman.
Nam Ouk Cho, 19, of Lee’s Summit, Mo., was charged with second-degree murder in the death of Judith Vellucci, 56, who was hit by Cho’s speeding vehicle as he fled from police.

The recordings were played Tuesday in a Douglas County courtroom. During that hearing, Douglas County District Judge Robert Fairchild determined there was probable cause to try Cho on the charge, and set a trial date of Dec. 9. (See earlier story.)
