To the editor:

I wanted to thank all the voters who voted in the Aug. 26 special vote regarding the Eudora swimming pool.

With our organized campaign against the wasteful design, we were able to defeat it and now can move on to a great pool design to serve our needs for decades to come.

The affordable, user-friendly, maintainable design that we now are going take to the council will serve our town in a better fashion and cost us millions less.

The new design will be introduced at the next City Council meeting for the people to discuss, and also for the council members to see what the “majority” of people want for their town. I hope all the council members will do what the “majority” want and not do what a select few want.

Our organized effort has saved us millions of wasted dollars. This is what a city can do if the people vote what’s on their minds and care about where their dollars are spent.

Thank you all for showing up at the polls and voting.
