To the editor:
It is obvious that Chuck Woodling has a very short memory. Obscenities and gestures were made at Mizzou players as KU students rushed onto the field after their win over the Tigers just a few weeks ago. Yet no students were decked by Missouri players for their enthusiastic behavior.
Chuck, it is not Missouri fans who don't get it. It's journalists who don't have a clue. Stop defending this Cornhusker thug for his foolish behavior. What he did was stupid and mean-spirited. Whether or not fans should rush the field or the court is not the issue here. The issue is whether or not a person can practice self-restraint when he is in a difficult situation.
Rather than slamming Tiger fans for some misguided celebration (that KU fans did just a few weeks ago), you might try being somewhat objective about a situation where a player laid a cheap shot on a fan.
Try practicing some journalistic integrity next time you sit down at your computer.
