To the editor:

A few weeks back public education administrative salaries were published in the paper to the outrage of some citizens, including some in the administration. I think this whole deal could have been handled more appropriately if one basic childhood rule had been followed: “I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.”

The next time the paper publishes the salaries of any public employees, an equal number of salaries should be published of other community citizens. It is important to publish salaries of individuals who control similar budgets and employees. I am sure that when the public sees what others make in the community they will realize that the superintendent and special education director don’t have such big salaries.
