Notice not timely
To the editor:
Well, what do you know? Three more local cases of cryptosporidiosis. The news comes right after Douglas County commissioners Bob Johnson and Charles Jones are quoted as condoning the action of Kay Kent — or should I say lack of action. She obviously suspected swimming pools might be involved when she warned the swim team. Nevertheless, she waited a whole month before giving all the rest of the Lawrence residents a chance to make their own decisions about using the pools.
She used the word “panic” as one reason to withhold information. Did she think residents would run amok in the streets of Lawrence?
My sympathy goes out to those who have been, or are, ill and also to the parents of the little ones.
Nancy N. Ashton,
Lawrence
