Top architect

To the editor:

I was happy to see Kansas University architecture professor Peter Pran featured in a front page article in the Journal-World on Sept. 29, although the page 4A headline, “KU professor moonlights as architect,” seemed flippant considering Pran is one of the world’s most respected and renowned architects.

There was no mention of this in the article, but I thought it might interest Journal-World readers to know that Peter Pran will be one of four major presenters at the Kansas Conference on Imagination and Place, which runs Oct. 17-19, at the Lawrence Arts Center. The I&P Web site, www.imaginationandplace.org contains a link to Pran’s architecture firm, NBBJ, as well as information about the conference and its other presenters, Wes Jackson, Stephanie Mills and Marci Penner. The conference is community-based — not officially linked to the university — and open to the public.
