KU’s loss
To the editor:
I have been a KU basketball season ticket holder since 1989 and feel very fortunate to have the privilege of attending home games and experiencing the atmosphere that is so unique to Allen Fieldhouse.
Unfortunately, I think those unique aspects of watching and experiencing KU basketball at Allen Fieldhouse are about to come to an abrupt end. Not only for myself because I can’t afford to donate to the Williams Fund, but more importantly for the basketball team and the students of KU.
It is extremely sad that money is considered above all and the powers that be have decided to shake things up and let the wealthy people take over the seats at the Fieldhouse.
What is going to happen to the atmosphere that has been a part of KU basketball? The new ticket holders will arrive at the games late, leave before the games are over and sit there unenthusiastically.
I pray that the powers-that-be wake up and realize exactly what it is they are losing, all for the sake of money and doing what they think is “only for the good of the university.”
