Adopt on first reading the following ordinances:

  • Ordinance No. 7725, establishing no parking from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. along the north side of Seventh Street between Comet Lane and Monterey Way and no parking along the north side of Quail Crest Place.
  • Ordinance No. 7726, establishing a new bus zone along the north side of 15th Street, from 330 feet west of Naismith Drive, west 35 feet; and removing existing Bus Loading Zone along the north side of 15th Street, from a point 294 feet west of the west curb line of Naismith Drive to a point 329 feet west of said curb line.

Adopt on second and final reading the following ordinances:

  • Ordinance No. 7595, authorizing the codification of the general ordinances of the city.
  • Adopt Resolution 6510 and Resolution 6511, authorizing affiliation with KPERS for optional group term life insurance for the city’s KPERS- and KP&F-eligible employees, respectively.

  • Consider adoption on second and final reading of Ordinance No. 7724, amending Horizon 2020 to update Economic Development Element CPA-2003-4. Adopted on first reading on Nov. 11.   • Consider adopting findings of fact, approving rezoning requests, and authorizing drafting of ordinances for placement on a future agenda:

a) A request to rezone a tract of land approximately 14.467 acres, from agricultural to multiple family residential district. The property is generally described as being at the south of West Sixth Street between Kansas Highway 10 and George Williams Way (extended). b) A request to rezone a tract of land approximately 7.013 acres, from agricultural to residence-office district. The property is generally described as being south of West Sixth Street and west of George Williams Way (extended). c) A request to rezone a tract of land approximately 12.836 acres, from agricultural to multiple-family residential district.   • Consider performance agreement with Prosoco concerning tax abatement.

  • Conduct public hearing on a request by Rick Younger, owner of Rick’s Place, requesting that the City Commission waive the distance limitation in City Code section 4-113(A) prohibiting the sale and serving of alcoholic liquor within 400 feet of a school or church.
  • Conduct public hearing on the advisability of the construction of Folks Road from Sixth Street (U.S. Highway 40) south approximately 1,500 feet to Mulberry Drive, Old Oak Court, and a part of Larissa Drive from Folks Road approximately 200 feet west.
  • Receive letter from Jack Skeels and others concerning proposed special assessment benefit district for stormwater improvements and conservation easement on Orchards Golf Course.
