Troop tribute

To the editor:

To the military protesters reading this: Shame on you!

Don’t you know the military personnel you are protesting against are the ones who are fighting and have died for your right to hold your protests. Try holding a protest under Saddam Hussein or the Taliban.

To the military personnel past, present and future reading this: Thank you!

This is a hug and a pat on the back. And remember this: For every one protester out there, there are hundreds who are saying thank you. We may not be blocking the streets or writing letters protesting an airplane going over, but we are out there. We know we are safe and don’t live every day with bombs going off around us because of you.

So when someone bad-mouths you, smile and say, “You’re welcome.”
