Allen honor
To the editor:
In recognition of what he did for Kansas basketball, Phog Allen’s retirement package should have included free season tickets for himself and his wife and children for the rest of their lives. The seats would have been centered behind the KU bench and painted a different color than the rest of the seats. To honor his memory, the same seats would have been held in perpetuity by his heirs. In the event of his heirs dying off, the seats would remain empty, except when occupied by visiting dignitaries at the discretion of the basketball coach.
Anything less would be mean-spirited and worthy only of a mediocre institution.
