KU memory

To the editor:

I was very disappointed when I heard that someone in Lawrence had slashed the tires of Nebraskans in Lawrence before the game.

I know that the people of Lawrence are very strong supporters of Kansas University, because the first night I spent in Lawrence, there was a bonfire on the street in front of the hotel after the KU basketball team won the right to represent the United States at the 1952 Olympics.

However, in the three years I lived there after that I did not hear of any of the kind of stupid viciousness which occurred last week. I pray that it will not occur again, there, in Lincoln, or any other city.
