Gun control

To the editor:

What makes guns so dangerous? Isn’t it just as dangerous as a fork or a pencil? I mean, a gun isn’t dangerous; it is the person using it that makes it dangerous. A person can just as easily hurt someone with a pair of scissors or a knife. In my opinion, I think that the gun control laws are ridiculous. Gun control does NOT control crime. I have grown up with the knowledge of safely handling all firearms and, in my 15 years of living, I have noticed some very hypocritical opinions of people.

Some celebrities like to tell people how bad they think guns are and how they think people should not have the right to bear arms. Yet, these “supporters” of gun control still have their bodyguards carry a gun to keep themselves protected. What makes any person have more of a right to be protected than somebody else? I think gun control laws are absurd and the supporters need to rethink their ideas.
