Dumb decision

To the editor:

Lawrence is not immune to making incredibly stupid decisions. Two of the four main travel arteries are now reduced to one lane. Two miles of Sixth Street and more than a mile of Iowa Street are now under construction. If we didn’t have enough traffic problems before, we definitely do now.

Why didn’t the powers that be fix one at a time? Better yet, why not fix them during the summer when the students were out of school and there was less traffic? Work on them at night and open both lanes up during the day? Someone has been listening to too much decision-making by the federal government.
