Student initiative

To the editor:

A group of Wellsville High School students wanted to improve their school libraries. So they had a book drive and collected 6,000 books for the schools. All praise to them! (Journal-World, Nov. 6)

Murphy Hall’s classrooms need repainting. So the music department decides it needs to increase tuition to pay somebody to do this for them. All shame to them! (Journal-World, Nov. 6)

Instead of picking up their own socks, KU wants to have somebody to do it for them. If they need to have their practice rooms painted, why don’t the students do it themselves? Or maybe they could hire the Wellsville kids to do it. The Wellsville kids obviously know how to get things done.
