LHS freshman earns all-league honor

Lawrence High freshman Drew Huff was named first-team All-Sunflower League by coaches Wednesday.

The second baseman, who led the Lions in nearly every offensive category in helping them to a 12-10 record, was the only city player selected to the first team. Huff, who hit .397, is also the first freshman LHS coach Reenie Stogsdill has had selected to the first team.

LHS junior Jenni Morrell and Free State sophomore Jamie Stanclift were both named second-team infielders, and LHS freshman pitcher Whitney Juneau also was named to the second team.

FSHS sophomore Ashley Wagner and LHS junior Danielle Huff were honorable-mention infielders.
