Rain to continue throughout the day
Even if the rain breaks for a short period, don’t leave your umbrella behind.
“You’ll want to keep it handy the rest of the day,” said Ross Janssen, 6News meteorologist.
By about 3 p.m. Monday, the Lawrence area had received about a tenth of an inch of rain, with more expected Monday afternoon and evening, Janssen said.
“We’re going to continue to see off-and-on thundershowers through the day,” he said. “There’s nothing severe. It’s scattered through northeast Kansas. . . . I think we’ll probably end up with a quarter of an inch to a half inch before it’s all over. But the rain will end later on this evening.”
Janssen said the rest of the week should be dry, although temperatures will be fairly cool for the next two days.
Tonight’s low will drop to 50, with mostly cloudy skies after the rain ends.
The skies will be partly cloudy Tuesday, with temperatures reaching a high of 64.
“Tuesday night, we may see a little bit of fog develop, with light winds,” he said. Tuesday night’s temperature could drop down to 41, he said.
Wednesday, clouds will probably be increasing through the afternoon, with temperatures reaching a high of 62.
