Is pope qualified?

To the editor:

I find it ironic that in his letter of April 30, Shawn P. Tunink compared a good sex education to driver’s education (as opposed to a class in auto mechanics) and then recommends as an instructor Pope John Paul II.

To use the same analogy, wouldn’t trusting the pope on matters of sexual education be like trusting someone on driver’s education who has never actually driven a car?
