Sprawling issue

To the editor:

There have been several news articles recently about the candidates for city commission and their position on certain issues.

I read an article in the March 20 issue of USA Today dealing with the way land developers have encouraged urban sprawl in cities south of Los Angeles. This has resulted in citizens spending more time in their cars, resulting in traffic congestion throughout several counties.

The article says “Land developers, the politicians biggest campaign contributors, are losing their laissez-faire paradise.” This tells me citizens of Lawrence should keep this in mind when they vote on Election Day.
