Lawrence Commuter Report

The following events and construction projects may affect commuter traffic this week in the region:

U.S. Highway 75, at 46th Street, traffic detoured through roundabout for construction.

Interstate Highway 70, from the Shawnee/Wabaunsee county line to the Carlson Road interchange, traffic reduced to one lane each direction and speed limit reduced to 60 mph for road reconstruction.

I-70, at Interstate Highway 635, traffic placed on existing westbound lanes for road reconstruction. I-635, between Metropolitan Avenue and Parallel Parkway, traffic placed on existing southbound lanes for road reconstruction. Several associated ramps closed.

Interstate Highway 35, at Southwest Boulevard, northbound exit ramp and southbound entrance ramp closed for bridge replacement.

Kansas City Royals baseball, vs. Chicago White Sox, 2:05 p.m. Monday, Kauffman Stadium, Kansas City, Mo. Games will also be at 1:05 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, and 7:05 p.m. Friday.


The following city construction projects may affect traffic this week:

North Michigan Street, no through traffic north of the Woodcreek Town homes entrance to Riverridge Road for road improvements.

Eighth Street, Kentucky Street to New Hampshire Street, intermittently reduced to one lane for water line installation.

19th Terrace; 20th Street; 20th Terrace; 21st Street, Stewart Avenue to east of Naismith Drive; and Ousdahl Road, 19th to 21st streets, traffic closures for storm sewer improvements.

Rhode Island Street, 15th to 17th streets, and 17th Street, New Hampshire Street to Barker Avenue, no on-street parking for water line installation.

Haskell Avenue, 19th to Lynn streets, occasional narrowed lanes for water line installation.

21st Street, New Hampshire to Kentucky streets, closed for storm sewer improvements.

Vermont Street, 23rd to Nebraska streets, and Dakota Street, west of Vermont Street, traffic interruptions for water line installation.

31st Street, Iowa Street to Ousdahl Road, traffic reduced to one lane each direction for road improvements.
