Douglas County: Commissioners to study road improvement plans

A five-year plan of federally assisted road improvement projects will be discussed at tonight’s meeting of Douglas County Commission meeting. The meeting will be at 6:35 p.m. in the Douglas County Courthouse.

Commissioners want to hear public comments about the following improvement projects:

  • County Road 442 from East 318 Road to County Road 1029. Spot location grading for improved sighting, addition of shoulders, flattening frontslopes, extending or replacing culverts, and bridge construction.
  • County Road 1029 from County Road 438 to Lecompton. Similar improvements as those on 442, without the bridge construction.
  • County Road 438 from 1029 east to 2.5 miles to the Kansas Highway 10 intersection. Total reconstruction of about two miles and improvements similar to those for 442 and 1029.
