Ignoring law
To the editor:
All the discussion of the politics of this war (Bush, anti-Bush, conservative or liberal) is completely irrelevant. Wasn’t it politics that led us into this situation anyway?
The only point worth consideration is that when our leaders make decisions for war (call it violence) from pride in our military and economic strength, they put themselves at odds with God, who hates violence and puts a curse on pride.
It’s like having a friend who’s convinced the law of gravity doesn’t apply to him, and trying to persuade him to not dive off a 10-story building.
It doesn’t matter what the friend’s politics are, or how I feel about him. When he defies the law of gravity, he goes splat.
Right now, our leaders have decided to defy a law more certain than gravity. Anyone who cares about them — or even more to the point, about this country — should point out this fact to them.
