Free State’s Wooden repeats on all-league

For the second straight season, Free State High senior Keith Wooden has been named to the All-Sunflower League boys basketball team, chosen by league coaches.

Wooden, a 6-foot-9 forward, led the Firebirds (15-7) in scoring with 17.4 points per game.

Lawrence High senior Brandon McAnderson and FSHS junior Dain Dillingham also were named to the 15-man team. McAnderson led LHS in scoring at 9.7 ppg for the 8-13 Lions. Dillingham averaged 12.0 ppg.

The Lions’ David Freeman shared sophomore of the year honors with Olathe North point guard Doug Huston. Freeman, who started the last nine games, averaged 6.9 ppg, but almost 10 as a starter.

Free State seniors Cameron Karlin and Bijai Jones, along with LHS senior Bryan Cargill and LHS junior Taylor Parker earned honorable mention.
