Rising fuel bills

To the editor:

I would like to hear from the auto fuel and home fuel companies on why the prices are so high and how they can justify that they are not gouging us.

There is no shortage of either fuel, and we are not at war yet, so what gives?

My home gas bill has tripled in the last three months, but usage has not risen. The pump price for auto fuel has gone up from $1.18 to $1.62 a gallon. If our political leaders care about their states, they would have the guts to stand up to these rip-off companies and do something to help and prosecute them for price-gouging.

On the lighter side, I must praise the local leaders of Eudora for keeping our electric bills at a reasonable rate. Thank you; we appreciate it.

Matt Montgomery,
