Peck support

To the editor:

In support of Officer Stuart “Mike” Peck, I have to speak up for a moment. Yes, I will admit what he did was wrong. But get a clue, people. Who did he target? College students? Average citizens? No, he targeted the scum of the universe, otherwise known as drug dealers.

He might have gotten overly zealous in his pursuit of these loathsome things we call people, but would you rather that they were still peddling their excrement to the kids in this city? They lost any right they had, in my mind, to civil liberties when they started dealing drugs.

Wake up people. Would you rather have Officer Peck gone, or have 12 drug dealers in prison? Because if you pick the first one, you have no clue what drugs can do to a child or an adult.

I want to be the first to tell Officer Peck that there are those in the community who appreciate his dedication to removing the pestilence of drugs from Lawrence, even if it is an uphill fight against weak-willed liberals who are afraid to impinge on someone’s rights, even if those they defend destroy the American way of life.

Dustyn Polk,

Lawrence
