Halt the T

To the editor:

Ken Meyer’s letter regarding the T in Friday’s Journal-World hit the nail on the head with a resounding clang that ought to be well-heard in the commission chambers. This ill-starred publicly funded transit system is a colossal joke. Millions of taxpayer dollars have been spent so a few folks can joyride or have their bikes hauled with them (I have seen the bike racks on the front of the buses!). All the while, the stable, working, taxpaying residents are getting gouged for this boondoggle of the century, in my opinion.

Sell the buses, provide vouchers to the truly needy for transportation by taxi or other more sane methods and put a halt to this incredible waste of money and resources. At a time when the state and city are loudly bemoaning the lack of revenue, when residents are being nailed to the wall with taxes, such a stupid and wasteful entity as the T should be halted immediately.
