Patterson praise

June 14, 2003

To the editor:

Lawrence High School and its students, teachers, alumni and supporters had the good fortune to receive news in the spring of 1997 that Dick Patterson had been named principal of LHS, beginning in the fall of that year. Dick Patterson was the right person at the right time for this position. During his tenure at Lawrence High School, including his previous service as vice principal, he devoted an overwhelming amount of time and energy toward ensuring the continued success and prestige of Lawrence High School, both locally and nationally. Mr. Patterson also displayed a great deal of sensitivity toward every LHS student, regardless of socioeconomic background and was sincerely committed to providing all students with every opportunity for excellence.

Our community owes a great deal to Dick Patterson for his hard work on behalf of Lawrence High School, its students, faculty and alumni, and our school district. He will undoubtedly continue to touch the lives of many more young people in a positive way.
