Letter: Dismal Fourth

To the editor:

Is anyone surprised there is little interest in a Fourth of July parade when the Fourth of July has effectively been banned by the Lawrence City Commission? Half of Lawrence will be out of town on the Fourth, and the other half will be breaking the law.
