To the editor:
Let me add my voice to that of Douglas County Commissioner Charles Jones, who reminded us all that the beauty of the night sky needs to be protected from light pollution (Journal-World, July 29).
The Heritage Baptist Church might do well to reflect on the opening verses of Psalms 19:
"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge." The night sky is our universal heritage, and nocturnal illumination of Old Glory should not be allowed to dim the eternal glory of the heavens.
