To the editor:

On the long drive home last Tuesday, my mind was trying to compose some kind of letter to the editor to express our great admiration, thanks — whatever adjectives one could find — to the Lawrence community for the tremendous job they did. The Dole dedication weekend was simply a fantastic event that took the time, energy, ideas, determination and skill to make it come off so beautifully!

It certainly showed what can be done when it seems almost impossible to do. But the residents of Lawrence should be so proud of the national event so beautifully carried out in Lawrence, America!!

It will always be a time to put in our happy memory book as one of the great events we were privileged to be a part of. (And not only because I got to wear my wedding dress again!)
