Poor choices

To the editor:

The governor has made some boneheaded appointments to the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Commission. Appointed were:

  • Kelly Johnston, an attorney, a member of the Kansas Trial Lawyers Assn., the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence and the Sedgwick County Democratic Central Committee. All of these organizations have pursued anti-gun legislation and have an anti-gun stance. Why would this person be a good appointment to determine statewide hunting issues?
  • Doug Sebelius, an attorney and relative.
  • Shari Wilson, a member of The Nature Conservancy, a group that is anti-hunting as well.

How did the governor think that two anti-gun, anti-hunting appointees and a relative were the best choice for Kansans? I believe if the judgment of this governor is this daffy with other state business, California should not have the only governor recall. Withdraw the appointees or face the music, we will be playing all night, Guv.
