Truth needed

To the editor:

Must the Journal-World always portray any questioning of the Bush administration as simply the work of opportunistic Democrats and the so-called “liberal news people” out to get President Bush? Saturday’s editorial, “Tell the truth,” was the same old same old.

Is it possible that many Americans across the political spectrum are concerned that one of the Bush administration’s main arguments for war with Iraq — that Iraq was trying to acquire uranium for its nuclear weapons program — turned out to be untrue, and, what is more, likely known to be untrue by the administration at the time of Bush’s State of the Union address?

The Journal-World should try to get beyond calling any opposition to the Bush administration a political game played only for the opponent’s advantage.

The issue of the credibility of the administration’s arguments for war is a matter that concerns all Americans. We all need to know the truth about this.
