To the editor:
Hey, state chamber of commerce, right on! I totally agree with your condemnation of a living-wage ordinance in Lawrence. Let’s keep as much of the citizenry as possible starving and in the streets. Hey, those despicable working-class folks don’t deserve to be 30 percent above the poverty line. They sure don’t deserve luxuries like cars, health insurance, houses and children.
Anyway, I’m sure the state chamber of commerce members wouldn’t be making a big deal about this if they themselves weren’t at or below the poverty line. I’ve heard that CEOs are often sleeping under cardboard boxes these days.
