Minorities lacking

To the editor:

According to Cynthia Annett (letter, J-W, Jan. 26) Kansas University’s lack of change in its minority census percentages reflects a lack of enforcement of equal opportunity.

With all due respect, the catchment area for KU seems overwhelmingly “nonminority,” although I don’t have the exact percentages at hand. Wouldn’t it be unreasonable to expect the general student population not to reflect this geography?
