Messed-up city
To the editor:
Hmmm, we can give all the big companies tax abatements, but yet Wal-Mart wanted to build a new store, and the city says NO.
That is NO to new jobs, NO to more tax revenue, NO to more choices, NO to not having to drive across the messed-up streets of Lawrence.
Seems the commission is a big NO committee
Hey, Wal-Mart, come build a new store in Eudora, we welcome you with open arms. It’s obvious Lawrence doesn’t want you there.
Seems the only YES they know is to costing more to live in this messed up Douglas County. I grew up here, and I am considering leaving altogether, the area is starting to stink.
