Free State football to play in Memorial Stadium next season
After playing four games in the last three years at Kansas University’s Memorial Stadium, Free State High’s football team will play all of its games there next season.
Free State’s home games next year are: Sept. 12 against Olathe South, Sept. 19 against Shawnee Mission West, Oct. 10 against Olathe North, Oct. 24 against Lawrence and Oct. 31 against Washburn Rural.
“It’s a nice venue, nice playing surface and a nice atmosphere,” FSHS coach Bob Lisher said. “We’re excited.”
FSHS played two games at Memorial during its 7-3 campaign in 2002. One was scheduled before the season and another was moved to KU because of excessive wear and tear to Haskell Stadium, its normal home venue.
