Injury accidents
Two cars collided Thursday afternoon near Wakarusa Drive and Clinton Parkway when one failed to yield for the other, a Lawrence Police spokeswoman said. Lawrence resident Jordan Ward, 22, was driving south on Wakarusa in a 1999 GMC Sonoma. Susan Sahadi, 36, also of Lawrence, was headed north on Wakarusa in a 1988 Pontiac Grand Am with two passengers. Ward tried to turn left onto Clinton Parkway as Sahadi’s car approached the intersection about 4:10 p.m. The two collided, causing a minor injury for 29-year-old Damian Fluker of Lawrence, a passenger in Sahadi’s car. The injury wasn’t severe enough to require a trip to the hospital. Police cited Ward for failing to yield, Sgt. Catherine Born said.
