Burglaries and thefts reported

  • A 77-year-old Lawrence woman told police Monday she had discovered more than a dozen charges on her credit cards that she said she didn’t make. The charges, made between Aug. 16 and Nov. 30, amounted to more than $3,600, according to police reports. No arrests have been made.
  • A 27-year-old Lawrence man reported that his 1993 Ford Escort was taken sometime Sunday night. It had been parked in the 4600 block of West Sixth Street.
  • Someone entered a residence in the 100 block of North Michigan Street and took several items, including video game machines. Losses were listed at $1,099. The burglary occurred sometime between Thursday and Tuesday. It was not known how the burglar entered the residence, police said.
  • A 20-year-old Lawrence man reported the theft of a 36-inch television, VCR, videotapes, DVDs, Playstation 2 games, a watch and other items from a residence in the 1300 block of East 21st Terrace. A locked window was forced open. The burglary occurred sometime between Dec. 22 and Saturday. Losses amounted to $11,285.
  • Sunday night a 43-year-old Lawrence woman told police she left a brown leather organizer in Quinton’s Bar and Deli, 615 Mass. When she returned to get it, it was gone. Inside the case were credit cards and $800 in cash.
  • A 2000 Pontiac Grand Am valued at $11,000 was taken sometime Sunday from the 2000 block of Alabama Street. The theft was reported by a 23-year-old Lawrence man.
