Burglaries and thefts reported

• A 20-year-old Kansas University student reported that her car’s $300 compact disc player had been taken along with a cellular phone, a book bag and $1,500 worth of compact discs.

The theft happened between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of West 24th Street, the woman told police. There was no forced entry to her car.

Injury accidents

• Police identified the people injured in a two-car wreck Wednesday night in Douglas County as Timothy J. Richards, 28, and Joseph P. Kramer, 23, Lawrence; and Mekaela J. Nichols, 21, Ottawa.

Richards was in fair condition Thursday night at KU Med, Kansas City, Kan. Nichols and Kramer were treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital and released.

Kramer and Nichols were in a Chevrolet Blazer that collided with Richards’ Geo Spectrum about 5:55 p.m. at the intersection of county roads 1055 and 458.

Lt. Kathy Tate, a spokeswoman for the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, said officers had not determined an official cause.
