Sign violations

To the editor:

I, too, had signs removed by the city. I thought it was vandalism, so I put up another sign. Then I got a notice on my door that I was in violation of Article 5-713 (which basically states that anything in the right of way can be considered illegal and can be removed). If you don’t remove the sign, the fine is $50 per day minimum. The article also states that to get signs back, you have to pay $25 per sign for an “administrative storage fee.” Unfortunately, no one was magnanimous enough to offer to give me my signs back free, and by now they have been destroyed.
