Great program

To the editor:

I would like to compliment you on your recent article about the writing of senior citizens’ biographies in Lawrence elementary schools. This is a fine program that benefits both generations. It also shows the advantages that come from business-school partnerships as the businesses pick up the printing costs.

I was disappointed that no mention was made of Professor Flora Wyatt of the School of Education who developed and instituted the program. It has brought national acclaim to KU and the School of Education through an article of professor Wyatt’s that was published in the National Middle School Journal. It has also been promoted in the state through reports she arranged at the state reading convention. I am sure there are schools all over using it.
