Long-time county clerk won’t seek re-election

Douglas County Clerk Patty Jaimes said today she would not seek re-election in 2004.

Jaimes, who has been clerk since 1981, declined to discuss what she plans to do after leaving office.

“It is my plan to serve out my term,” she said.

Jaimes, a 62-year-old Republican, is the county’s chief election officer and maintains the county’s tax rolls.
