Not funny

To the editor:

This letter is concerning a problem with the T bus system. Imagine driving down the street on your way home, just paid off your car, everything is great! I don’t know if it’s just bad luck or what, but in the middle of the street, of all things, sits a bowling ball. You can get around it fine, no problem.

But wait, in the other lane a T bus is coming. Oh, the bus will stop in time, he won’t hit that ball, you think. WRONG! The bus hits the ball and it smashes underneath your car causing your transmission to break, among other things. You wonder, why didn’t he slow down or stop? So you call the powers that be over at our city-owned bus service not wanting to cause any problems or even asking for money, because it really wasn’t the T driver’s fault that the ball was in the road.

All you want is to let them know what happened and how it might have been avoided. But to your dismay, all you get is laughed at. I’m not talking about just being shrugged off, I’m talking literally laughed at! You aren’t even asked if you or your child is OK or what damage was done to your car. I didn’t find it funny in the least, but I suppose it was to the people at the T. I just hope this kind of thing doesn’t happen to anyone else. Just think, that could’ve been you!
