KU Graduate School streamlines admissions

Kansas University’s Graduate School is centralizing its admissions procedure, university officials announced Friday.

Instead of applying to individual programs, prospective students will send their applications to the Graduate Applications Processing Center in Strong Hall, Room 30.

The change is being made in response to U.S. State Department modifications to international admissions and to the Provost’s Task Force on Graduate Education report, which suggested a more centralized graduate school could help raise its profile.

Two staff members have been named to work in the processing center. Gina King, who has four years’ experience in undergraduate admissions, will handle domestic applications, and Amy Quirin, formerly in International Student and Scholar Services, will handle international applications.
