Liberal roadblock

To the editor:

How does Ashley Snyder know that Jonathan Affalter does not speak for most of Lawrence? I agree with Affalter’s conclusions on what happened at the Holiday Inn. Snyder says she doesn’t believe in anarchism but says anarchists are very intelligent, open-minded people. Huh! How intelligent is it to stand or sit on a street when a 2-ton vehicle is coming toward you at 40 mph. And what is the irrefutable damage done by those who attended the dinner? Aren’t they accorded First Amendment rights (to assemble), too?

As far as police brutality goes, that’s hogwash. The Lawrence Police Department has bent over backwards allowing the protesters to have their street marches, camp-outs, etc. The LPD has been very tolerant with protesters. It is a great injustice to our soldiers to say that their (and our) president cowers behind them. These men and women who are in harm’s way do so out of dedication to their commander-in-chief and love of their country. Are you implying that the majority of soldiers don’t support our president’s decisions?

If you say you support our troops, you should support “their” reason for being there also. Don’t tarnish their service to this country. The bottom line is this. Liberals will do and say anything to advance their agenda. This leads to further deterioration of values and morals to which our children are exposed. And when Bush became president, this put a big roadblock in their plans. They are still steaming from his win.
