LMH Auxiliary awards health care scholarships

Lawrence Memorial Hospital Auxiliary has announced this year’s recipients of three four-year renewable $1,000 scholarships.

This year’s recipients are Seth Alford, a Free State High School graduate who will attend Emporia State University; Haley Smith, a Lawrence High School graduate who will attend Bethel College in North Newton; and Daniel Hamilton, a Baldwin High School graduate who will attend Tabor College in Hillsboro.

Recipients must maintain a B average and study in the health care field to be eligible for the scholarship.

Democratic Party posts delegate guidelines

The Kansas Democratic Party has posted guidelines for delegation selection to the 2004 Democratic National Convention online at www.ksdp.org.

The draft will remain open to the public until Aug. 20, when the Kansas Democratic Party will accept public comment on the plan.

After review, the party will review, revise and vote on the new plan.
