It can work

To the editor:

Many years ago, after all four of our children had attended Cordley School, we were informed of a proposal that would include a boundary change which would send our youngest son and some of his friends to a different school. Of course we were apprehensive at first, but after carefully studying the pros and cons and listening carefully to the rationale explained by the school officials, we realized that this was a well-thought-out and necessary move.

Working with PTA groups, we made this a positive situation for all involved — especially the children. There was a give-and-take attitude on the part of both schools. We were able to share many of our ideas for fund raising with our school while enjoying the benefits provided for us.

No, we didn’t lose a school, but we did face a major change, and we all pulled together to make it work — for the children.
