To the editor:

I hate to see Roy Williams leave Kansas University, but it is his choice, and I wish him the best. He did so much for KU basketball in his 15 years here. I am a bit irritated with North Carolina and the way events unfolded with the firing of Matt Doherty during the NCAA tourney, which caused rumors to fly and put a dark cloud over KU during the tournament.

I think coach Williams will do well at North Carolina, but he is going from the “frying pan to the fire” because I’m sure UNC has very high expectations of him, even more so than KU. I’m sure the university will expect an NCAA title ASAP, something Roy couldn’t do here in 15 years. Good luck, Roy.
