To the editor:

A message to Roy Williams:

Just quit. Give up the “Poor Roy” song-and-dance number already. Suck it up and stop blubbering about how sad you are that you’ll never get to coach Omar Wilkes or David Padgett. You knew the signing rules even better than they did.

The fact of the matter is every player on the KU men’s basketball team chose to play for KU and chose to play for you. And you turned your back on them to coach players at UNC who didn’t choose KU and didn’t choose you.

It’s time to do the right thing, even if it’s hard, even if you don’t like it. It’s time to be classy and tell Omar Wilkes, David Padgett and the rest of the world the truth: Wilkes and Padgett made a great decision to sign with KU. KU has and will continue to have a great basketball program, and you are confident they will have outstanding basketball careers here at KU.
