To the editor:

I am writing in response to the “No control” letter in the April 14 Public Forum.

I would like to tell Phebe that I support her right to react to the events that took place in my neighborhood the night of April 5. I would like to also tell her that before you write to the editor you should have read the article thoroughly. It was just not about the burning of signs; it was also the burning of the American flag, which was mine since mine was stolen that evening when the events took place, and that I find appalling.

No matter how our stand is on the war it is never right to express your opinion with vandalism. As for democracy, we vote to elect people who make decisions for us — we did not vote individually for this war and if we did — according to the polls — your “No War” would lose.

So, I say to the men and women who continue to fight for our safety and freedom, “God Bless you and God Bless America.”
